Green Tea for Pets

While some supplements reported to promote health have little more than placebo benefit, other supplements are true blessings. Often the most beneficial supplements have scientific research, as well as clinical evidence, to support their efficacy. This is true of green tea. Scientific research has proven that green tea helps to:

    • slow premature aging
    • decrease arthritic symptoms
    • control bacteria that cause bad breath
    • decrease the incidence of cancer: liver, stomach, esophagus, breast, skin, and colon
    • decrease cancer spreading through the body (metastasis)
    • decrease occurrence of rheumatoid arthritis
    • lower blood sugar
    • lower cholesterol
    • inhibit blood clots, which lead to heart attack and stroke
    • block viruses from attaching and causing infection
    • block heavy metals: lead, mercury, chrome, and cadmium
    • prevent damage caused by kidney failure by suppressing angiotensin II
    • maintain a normal white blood count, which is essential for the immune system to fight infection

Dogs and cats benefit from green tea just as people do.
