Hoorah! Lost Dog Found
Hoorah! Winston was found walking down the road in Richmond by a woman who was driving out of town. She stopped at the first house with an open door and asked if they would find the owner. These kind women had been praying for a dog, but instead of keeping Winnie, they used the number on the rabies tag to call the vet office. The vet office contacted Debbie, and Winnie has been reunited with his family. Winnie’s little brother Buster is overjoyed.
Because Winnie was freshly washed, he was probably in someone’s home from July 3 until he escaped and walked down the road. His name tag had been removed.
Among the people to thank is Lynne who took responsibility for an internet search of all found dogs. Debbie’s other friends helped make posters and visited the humane societies. Everyone canvassed the neighborhoods.
For peace of mind, microchip your pets. Because Winnie had a microchip, we were optimistic that he would eventually be found.
Our prayer is that every pet rests safely with its family. Thanks to all the wonderful people who help make this possible all year long—friends, strangers, and humane societies.
