1. Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993)



Who says cats and dogs don't get along? This Disney remake of the 1963 film based on Sheila Burnford's novel, follows the adventures of Himalayan cat Sassy, American bulldog pup Chance and Golden Retriever Shadow across rocky mountainous terrain. Their owners have gone on holiday to San Francisco leaving the pets at a friend's ranch but they suspect they have been abandoned and set out on the dangerous journey to be reunited with their loved ones.

2.Cats & Dogs (2001)



Sticking to the stereotype, in Cats & Dogs felines and man's best friend are at war with each other, unbeknown to humans. When scientist Professor Body tries to create a serum to stop human allergies to dogs, the cat community need to act fast. Snow white cat, Mr Tinkles plans to get the formula, analyse it and reverse it in order to make humans acutely allergic to all dogs in an attempt to wipe them out entirely. Playing on the cunning of cats and featuring kick-ass martial arts kitties, it's a feline frenzy with a 2010 sequel coming up - Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.

3. Garfield, The Movie (2004)



The legendary Bill Murray voices one of the most famous animated cats, in this big screen, live-action feature adaptation of the Jim Davis' comic. Lasagne-loving lazy fat cat, Garfield, finds himself in competition with new house member, Odie the dog. When Odie disappears after Garfield locks him out, feeling terrible for his owner Garfield uncharacteristically gets off his arse to find him. Computer generated, Garfield: The Movie received plenty of criticism, but for cat lovers it's another nod to our feline friends.

4. The Cat In The Hat (2003)



Dr. Seuss' mischievous cat is brought to life on the big screen. When two kids are stuck at home on a rainy, dreary day with nothing to do, they get an unexpected visitor. The cat in the hat breaks all the rules of the house and wreaks havoc everywhere he goes, but he shows the kids how to let loose and enjoy life.

5. That Darn Cat! (1965)



Both versions of this classic tale about a crime-solving cat are wonderful. In the original, Haley Mills plays opposite the feline while in the remake Christina Ricci plays opposite. I recommend both.

Remake of the 1940s horror, the steamy and erotic Nastassja Kinski version of Cat People sees Irena Gallier meet her older brother, Paul, having been with adopted parents most of her life. I personally love Natioanl Geographic and its documentaries and I love animals. Otherwise, a very well done film, very well researched, but this one... is not quite just about the secret life of cats and their joyous way of being. It discusses the consequences of pets and their hunting on other species; it discusses pet owner responsibility and its impact on the environment.

18. Ghost Cat (2004)



This movie, "Ghost Cat" was very well done. It was featured on Animal Planet near Halloween time, a couple of years ago.
I have been asking the studio to release it on DVD ever since.
Ghost Cat stars a young Ellen Page, who already had quite the screen presence in this movie, before she hit it big in future movies.
It is the story about a young girl (Page) who's Mom dies, and the girl and her Dad move to a new house in the town where her deceased Mom had grown up.
