A man was struck and killed by a northbound 3 train at the Crown Heights-Utica Ave. station on Monday afternoon.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was hit by a northbound 3 train at the Crown Heights-Utica Ave. station at about 4:05 p.m., MTA spokeswoman Marisa Baldeo said.
Firefighters arrived on scene moments later to remove the man from under the train, FDNY officials said.
“The cops were rushing to take him out. At that time it was chaotic. No one could get him out, he already died,” said newsstand clerk Saurap Hussain, 41
Hussain said the man apparently jumped near the end of the platform, just out of his view.
“There were a lot of people at the time. People were screaming but at that time they couldn’t help because he was already dead,” he said. “It was just very shocking."
The MTA suspended service on the 3 train in both directions as authorities investigated the scene, Baldeo said.
