Planes of Fame

I found myself with some time to kill this past weekend and decided to head over to the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, California. The museum has an amazing collection of mostly functional aircraft from the early days of aviation to the present, but it is mostly known for it's amazing collection of World War II fighter planes.

The collection includes some of the most exciting planes of World War II, from the legendary P-51 Mustang to the last Mitsubishi Zero still flying with an original engine in the world. My studio is just a few blocks north of the old airport so it's not unusual to see these warbirds being put through their paces in the skies over  the ranch. Despite being so close to the museum, I had not been in several years.

If you are in the Chino area it is worth the trip and the $11 entrance fee, they even have a B-17 on display that during some hours you can go inside and see what it was like to be in a World War II bomber. For more info or to plan your trip visit PlanesofFame.org
