A chiropractor made me glad to be a veterinarian

Recently I visited a chiropractor who made me glad to be a veterinarian. She did this by declining to treat my back although she said she could palpate the problem. The chiropractor said it was her policy not to treat at the first appointment although she had X-rays on hand. She had not discussed this policy when the appointment was made. It’s also true that the chiropractor came to the appointment with hair conditioner on her hair, talked almost exclusively about herself, her health problems, her future clinic plans, and her mother’s dog.

This chiropractor made me glad to be a veterinarian because I’ve never met a veterinarian who would let an animal spend another 24 hours in pain in order to charge for a second office call. Veterinarians are among the kindest, hardest working, most considerate, and capable of any profession.
